How the quote is built

unit = (grams ÷ 1000 × filament price + kW × hours × electricity + machine rate × hours) × (1 + markup)
subtotal = Σ unit × qty + labour rate × labour hours + setup fee
total = subtotal × (1 + tax) + shipping

The machine rate covers printer depreciation, maintenance and failed prints — $0.50–$2 per hour is common for hobby printers. Get grams and hours from your slicer, or estimate them from the STL with the STL weight calculator and print time estimator.

FAQ

How do I quote a 3D print job?

Slice each part to get grams and print time, enter them here with quantity, set your rates, then print the quote or save it as a PDF.

What machine rate should I charge?

Divide the printer's cost plus expected maintenance by its useful life in hours, then add a buffer for failures. $0.50–$2 per hour covers most desktop FDM printers.

Should I charge a setup fee?

A small fixed fee covers file prep, slicing and bed preparation, and makes tiny orders worthwhile.

Is the quote saved anywhere?

No. Everything stays in your browser; use Print → Save as PDF to keep a copy.
